STIX FRANKLIN

I started my radio career at the Children’s Radio Network called Radio Aahs (no that’s not a typo as in Ooohs and Aahs).  Radio Aahs was a blast!  That’s why I was there from the start to the end of the network’s run.  It was a great feeling creating a community of fans across the country. 

When Radio Aahs folded I spent about six months in Utah, I then headed to country station KCS 102 in Colorado Springs, CO.  Colorado was such a great place to live especially for a mountain biker and skier like me.  It was so much fun having world class mountain bike trails outside my backdoor.  I came back home to the upper Midwest and Green Bay in 2004. 

My folks live in Iron Mountain, MI and I have a LOT of cousins around the area.  After moving to Green Bay I started racing mountain bikes and met my wife through mountain bike racing.  We now have 2 kids Tanner 6 and Samantha 4 to go along with my her 3 James, Dylan and Kennedy.  I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay with my Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology – Exercise Science in May 2012. This is why I like to mention health and fitness things on my show.

  My plan was to go to graduate school and leave radio behind me, then Jimmy called and asked if I’d like to do mid days at Star 98, and I couldn’t say no to working at such a great station, with such a fun group of people.  I’m so happy to be here!
